Important Updates to the Child Abuse Workshop Requirement

Amendments have been signed into NYS Social Services Law requiring additional content within the NYS mandated Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment/Neglect coursework. The law requires every person who has previously undergone this training to undergo the new updated training by April 1, 2025. Please visit Child Abuse Workshop Updates for more information.

SBL Assessment Part 1 and 2 Update

Per NYSED’s Office of Teaching Initiatives (OTI), candidates can take any combination of the SBL (Revised May 2013) Part 1 and Part 2 exams and SBL (Revised May 2019) Part 1 and Part 2 exams. Any SBL exam prior to the 2013 version is not acceptable.
